Sicarú is the most internationally awarded Mexican guitar ensemble, including the first prize in the Guitar Foundation of America's International Ensemble Competition (2017). Its musical journey has led Sicarú to perform in Austria, Brazil, Croatia, Cuba, Czechia, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Slovakia, Uruguay, and the United States. Originally formed as an octet in 2010 by Rodrigo Lara Alonso, Sicarú is now an ensemble with a variable configuration.​
