BIO | Rodrigo Lara Alonso

Rodrigo Lara Alonso is a classical guitarist and educator with degrees in music and Latin American studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He holds postgraduate degrees from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Indiana University Bloomington, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Music Education.

Rodrigo serves as Chair of the Preparatory Guitar Department at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He is also the founder of Sicarú, an internationally recognized guitar ensemble that has won 16 first prizes.
