Rodrigo Lara Alonso is a classical guitarist and educator with degrees in music and Latin American studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He holds postgraduate degrees from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Indiana University Bloomington, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Music Education.

He is the founder of Sicarú, an internationally recognized guitar ensemble that has won 16 top prizes. Rodrigo also maintains a private guitar studio in the Cleveland area, where he works with students of diverse backgrounds and levels.
